Uranus, the planet associated with astrology and Aquarius was discovered by Herschel 245 years ago on March 13 in 1781 (a Tuesday) and named after the Greek god of the sky, Ourania.
It has an 84 year orbit and is the third largest planet in our solar system - about four times wider than Earth; it rotates on its side and spins in the opposite direction to most other planets; the coldest planet in our solar system, with a recorded temperature of -224℃ - only a tad warmer than my narrowboat in the winter; has at least 13 known rings, including an inner system of dark rings and an outer system of brightly colored rings; at least 28 known moons, including five major moons named Miranda, Ariel, Umbriel, Titania, and Oberon.
Talk about doing things differently! Appropriate that is associated with unconventionality and the zodiac sign of Aquarius
