Venus, Jupiter & Sirius - August 12
The image is a screenshot of a video presentation given by Dr Dani, a physician astrologist, whose work on promoting 13th sign constellation astrology is the subject of the latest page, much overdue, to be added to my website. Tuesday, August 12, around 06:15 will see the meeting of Jupiter and Venus and just below the horizon (here in the UK) the brightest star in the sky, Sirius, will be only a third of a degree away - the closest it has been in almost 200 years. (Whether they meet in Cancer or in Gemini as the image below shows depends on which method of astrology you favour) The above screenshot from Stellarium for 04:25 shows the planetary positions in the constellations - Sirius, the blue dot, is below the horizon as is the Sun which will rise at 05:41. The yellow dot represents Venus & Jupiter together whilst the red line is known as the ecliptic - the path that the planets travel around the Earth.
