Back in February I presented a four week course entitled 'the jOURney'. It covered all esoteric matters starting with the history of astrology and introduced the Astro family as the 'hosts' - the father (astroNOMY), the mother (astroLOGY), the son (astroTHEOlogy), the daughter (astroSOPHY) and their pet dog (astroNAUTY). The relationship between Nomy and Logy started disintegrating in the 17th century ultimately leading to their D-I-V-O-R-C-E when Logy, T-H-E-O and S-O-P-H-Y went their separate ways leaving Nomy with Nauty. The good news is that Nomy and Logy have reconciled their differences and have finally re-married working together on the true sidereal 21st century approach to studying and interpreting the cosmos which is still in its infancy. The moon entered Ophiuchus at 4am (Universal Time) today leaving the final degree of Scorpio at 13 degrees and 13 minutes. Got to love that number and today is also the start of a new 13 day period (tzolkin) in the Mayan calendar known as the trecena of freedom and fertility. Yesterday I attended the first ever online conference for the newly-formed International Sidereal Astrology Association and it was an extraordinary experience brought alive by an eclectic mix of 8 presenters (and at least 3 feline co-stars) with some educational, even electric, presentations. It was remarked that the date was special in that the day, month and year all added to 9 which won't happen again for 9 years and this numerological interpretation also fitted nicely with the fact that Ophiuchus is NOT the 13th sign rather it is the 9th. On this the International Day of Peace and the evening of the last eclipse this year I've chosen to share with you a couple of interesting articles on world events including an update on the third interstellar object to have been discovered in the past decade - 3i/Atlas is a rare phenomenon that surprisingly has so far had little coverage in the mainstream news. Not officially classified as a comet due to the anomalies it is exhibiting, the object is racing through the universe at an incredible 38 miles per second and the closest it will pass by Earth will be on December 19, providing it survives its passage around the far side of the sun. Unsurprisingly it is the subject of hundreds of theories from astrologers, astronomers, astrophotographers and even a Harvard astrophysicist, Avi Loeb, who has stated that it is not a natural object. We will know more about this when it passes close to Mars on October 3 giving NASA and astronomers an opportunity for a close up view and analysis of it

My drive to Baitings Dam to watch the blood moon rise wasn't completely wasted as I encountered a pair of llamas, without their pyjamas, and a gaggle of noisy inquisitive geese joking about the government's test of the emergency broadcast system earlier in the day. As a further humourous aside, the topical issue of immigrANTS crossing the channel in boats made me think about the illegal occupants of my narrowboat - immigrARACHNIDS I call them.
