The views expressed herein are based on my experience of using these apps for several months and it should be evident from the comparison chart above that they each take a very different approach to the subject. Indeed 'The Pattern' promotes itself as a personality and compatibility experience with little actual reference to the astrological data behind it whilst Co-Star is the most open of the three with regards to detailing the astrological aspects and offering users a choice of Porphry or Whole house systems for their charts - a detail that admittedly will likely be considered superfluous to most users.
Co-Star & The Pattern are both keen on encouraging users to invite friends so that their friendship and romantic compatibility can be assessed. The latter offers a chat facility and is due to launch an actual dating function known as 'Connect' for which little information is currently available other than it will be initially restricted to certain areas of the USA. I would anticipate it will be offered at a cost significantly higher than its 'premium membership' offering which the table shows is already at a premium for users not based in the USA.
So far no mention of Sanctuary due to the fact that whilst it offers personalised daily readings incorporating sun, moon (not always evident) and rising sign it is clearly designed to encourage users to interact with their professional astrologers, tarot readers and psychics with either fixed price readings or telephone consultations. Unlike its rivals Sanctuary does offer a 'Guide' section which explains many common astrological terms and an email newsletter which comes with an annual astrological calendar. It is unique in being the only offering to incorporate the tarot with a daily card being generated along with the astrology reading for the day.
The reviews surprisingly show that The Pattern has been slightly less well-received yet for me it does seem to be the one with the most potential to those who are not interested in understanding the complex astrology integrated in the programming and who will be attracted both by its reasonable pricing and the alternative approach to online dating - whilst some of the mainstream dating sites have paid a token gesture to astrological compatibility it has not been given sufficient emphasis to be able to produce accurate results.
In conclusion I have to admit that I have no clear favourite for they each bring something to the table and collectively they are helping to introduce millions of newcomers to the power of proper astrology and hopefully setting them on the path of self-discovery that will not only raise the planetary consciousness but in turn benefit the rapidly expanding astrological community around the world in which knowledge and considerable experience is often freely shared. (I will be providing links to many of these sites and also software and apps that I use to expand my own understanding of the subject)
