Cosmology, from the Greek: κοσμολογία (cosmologia, κόσμος (cosmos) order + λογος (logos) word, reason, plan) is the quantitative (usually mathematical) study of the Universe in its totality, and by extension, humanity's place in it. Though the word cosmology is recent (first used in 1730 in Christian Wolff's Cosmologia Generalis), study of the Universe has a long history involving science, philosophy, esotericism, and religion. The Maya civilization is a Mesoamerican civilization, noted for the only known fully developed written language of the pre-Columbian Americas, as well as its spectacular art, monumental architecture, and sophisticated mathematical and astronomical systems. Alcyone represents the Earth Goddess. The lessons from Alcyone are those dealing with compassion, higher wisdom and vision, and Earth consciousness. We are indebted to the research and dedication of Jose Arguelles, Carl Johan Calleman and the late Ian Llungold, amongst others, for this incredible knowledge. Maya is also a sanskrit word which is commonly translated as 'illusion' yet its true spiritual meaning is the duality of existence and non-existence, a concept which most people will initially find hard to grasp primarily because of our limited 3rd dimension perspective. The Tzolkin synchronizes with the Haab, the Mayan's equivalent of our western day calendar in having a 365 day solar cycle, every 52 years which is the age at which you become an 'elder'. However since the Gregorian calendar has leap years your spiritual birthday will fall 13 days before your 52nd birthday - you would have to live to over 185 years of age for the two birthdays to coincide and thus repeat the pattern that existed on the day you were born!!!
